About Me
I have been working in education for five years. This past year I had the pleasure of working as a 1st-grade teacher at Greenport Elementary School. Previously I've had the pleasure of being a General Education Teacher in a 4th-grade inclusion classroom, a long-term 2nd-grade leave replacement, a 5th-grade leave replacement, an AIS Reading leave replacement, and an AIS Math teacher. These varied experiences have prepared me to meet the needs of students of all ages and capabilities.

Classroom Environment
My classroom is a supportive and inclusive environment that students are excited to come to each day. I make meaningful connections with each student centered around respect, clear boundaries, and high expectations. The students are encouraged to have a positive attitude and a growth mindset. Most importantly, I strive to make learning engaging and exciting for my students. My greatest strength as a teacher is my ability to build lasting, meaningful relationships with my students.

Education
I hold a M.S. in Educational Psychology. This training provides me with the tools to support my students' emotional needs. I am a certified General and Special Education Teacher. My time studying at St. Joseph's College and working in an inclusion classroom has taught me to differentiate lessons to support learners of all levels and needs.
Parent Communication
I utilize the Remind app in order to have a direct line of communication with parents. I also send home a weekly newsletter to parents detailing upcoming class events. An open line of communication helps to build a positive parent-teacher relationship. This partnership benefits the student by encouraging parents to be an active participant in their child's learning.
